I am a Lincolnshire Artist working in watercolours.
I studied at Bristol University and gained a B.Sc .Hons. in Zoology. Thereafter I worked with research groups at Bristol and Cambridge Universities and became a Science Teacher in Bedfordshire. I returned to the Fens 30 years ago and started to realise my ambition to paint.
The inspiration for my art initially came from the Fenland Skies, landscapes and churches in the local area. Ecological Studies at Gibraltar Point in North Lincolnshire promoted an interest in Wilderness Paintings and Wildlife Studies. Holidays in Norfolk and walks along the Norfolk Coastal Path inspired work on Norfolk Seascapes,Beachcombing collections and Norfolk Wildlife. Recently my work has been inspired by frequent trips to Frampton Marsh and walks locally.
I have exhibited my my work at several galleries and was invited to exhibit at The Norfolk Wildlife Trust, Cley Marsh Reserve. I have had work accepted for The Laing Open,The South Holland Open Arts Competition, The Royal Society of Marine Artists ,The Institute of East Anglian Artists and The National Exhibition of Wildlife Art.
